Studio
Whatever creative expression or art form you choose to follow, an artist needs to have a place to work. That space doesn't have to be a separate building or even a whole room, it can be a desk or an easel, but they need the space to create and be left alone while they are creating.
A door is helpful.
My studio is a renovated log barn. During the back to the land movement of the early 1970s, the barn was home to milk cows, pigs, chickens, and my sons’ 4-H projects. As our life (and the kids) moved on, it found new purpose as my textile arts studio, home to multiple looms, a sewing loft, and a ‘wet room’ for felting. A wood pellet stove keeps it cozy in the Cariboo winters.
